Fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear has been coming in faster than I can keep up, or so it would seem!

Hello!

Versace is showing, even as we speak! What an adrenaline rush, huh?!

Notice the pops of orange in the collection? And what about that ombre? There is a fur jacket (in shades of orange and black), and a pantsuit (in purple and white). What appears to be sequins on some of the coats, and a knit sweater/skirt combo will cause one to twinkle like the stars in the sky at night I am imaging. And the skirts with the sheer black overlay must swish/swish, as one moves. How about that!

The most memorable collection; thus far, has to be Gareth Pugh's. It is predominantly black, with some gray and a bit of white and/or cream thrown in for good measure. The coats; especially the trenches, I consider to be tall/dark/handsome! I'm laughing! So mysterious, in a good way. All that I wondered was "Where is the fedora?" But, I would!

Just to tip that invisible fedora that I so wanted to see with the trenches off to you, you can expect more pops of color and sheer (as in see through) fabrics as you view other collections. I'm not a huge fan of cloud based material; harrumph, unless they are strategically layered. It is enough to have to be concerned about 'a wardrobe malfunction,' as it is! Hah!

Once we go through every single collection; well almost every single collection, we'll report back. I like zebra and leopard prints for cool weather myself. I gotta find them! O.K. ; then, later on that...

The O Magazine Collection With Talbots has polka dots! Polks dots are my idea of a print! The scarf, cardigan and tote bag are m-i-n-e! A nice percentage of the proceeds from the collection is going to Dress For Success. See what you can do for a great cause...

The big boxes continue to struggle. J.C. Penney is slated to close stores, and lay off folk. My hope is that they will get through this in tact, before all is said and done...

I'm still at it; mixing and matching, that is! See what I did with one of Alexander McQueen's, and one of Marc Jacobs' frocks! Yup, I'm still having fun after all of these years!

Going! Gone! Went!

Hello!

The Missoni crochet-knit midi dress is sold out! At Polyvore, that is! The #MsMixAndMatchEm tete-a-tete was a whole lot of fun, wasn't it?

Nine outfits were mined from that one dress! I was all set to do even more until it dawned on me that the dress was gone. It just goes to show what a little ingenuity can do. Don't be afraid to try something other than what you are used to. You may hit upon the just right thing. And although you may not wear every ensemble that you put together out, you are bound to be enamored with more than one. Let's hear it for "creative and witty ideas!"

Glasses that adjust to your vision; aka, smart glasses are all of that and a bag of chips! Now, about the styling of them...
 
Aluminum and stainless steel headphones? Bring it on!

I've often said, "People who have money tend to be more prudent than those who don't." You would think that it would be the exact opposite! Go figure...

Fayetteville has its sights set on being the fried chicken capital of North Carolina! I'm loving it!

Having fun with Missoni!

Hello!

I tend to gravitate towards bold, bright "crayola colors!" But every once in a while, I will find myself in a print that literally leaps off the fabric, in a North Carolina minute! In steps Missoni!

These folk know how to use color, and in a pattern other than the zig-zag! Harrumph, harrumph!

I think I stayed away from prints for a long time because I was convinced that once you'd seen it; well, you'd seen it! It's kind of ironic, really. I find such joy in mixing-and-matching items. I've taken a Missoni print that speaks to me to see what I could do with it...

The knit dress has more than one bold color! I had to, just had to accessorize using: 1) navy blue, 2) orange/coral/salmon, and 3) blue and yellow. I'm not done, yet! I must, just must accessorize with gold too. Later on that one...

See what I mean? Using different colors to accessorize can change the entire mood, and look of an outfit. You won't have to see yourself coming and going, either! Need any help with a favorite piece or two? I'm here for 'ya!

Google and H&M are on the cutting edge, quite literally! They are planning to create a dress for y-o-u, based on your personal digits, shall we say. There will be limitations; mind you, but it's an exciting endeavor nonetheless. Theoretically, it is a service that all of us ladies can use...

The Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear collections are showing! The Calvin Klein bright yellow coat covered with acrylic is a modern take on a classic. The slim fitting La Perla suit draws you in with the vivid, bold color. The Adam Selman black trench just sparkles! I can't wait to see the other collections...

Every once in a while, we have got to make our way to the hair salon. Most of us want to trim away only what is necessary. You'll be interested to know that you can get a trim without a cut! Fancy that! It's kind of clever, if you ask me. It will take a pro to do it for me. I certainly can't do it myself...

              

Beauty Tip of the week:  Cleanse the face. Spritz vanilla extract on. Moisturize. The skin will look tighter, and brighter. Do regularly for skin that looks good! This is one of my favorite go to's, for radiant skin...

What lady doesn't want pretty things to lounge around in?

Hello!

I know I do! But I also know that I do NOT want to wear a housecoat all of the time; let alone, a house dress any of the time! Remember those house dresses? UGH! I don't think so! I want to be able to feel pretty. I want to be able to read a book, watch a movie or take a nap. Without having to get dressed! I want to be able to slip into it, and call it a moment. Stephanie Seymour certainly hit the nail on the head with the Raven & Sparrow By Stephanie Seymour collection. The pieces look as if they would flutter from the sky! They are more than inviting. Somehow I think I can get through the winter...

Some folk will wait until the last minute to get swimwear. I know, I know, I know! It requires an extraordinary amount of patience to get it right. It can be done, but I say "Do it now!" The best selections are available at more than one price point. Who can afford to look ghastly in a swimming suit? Not you or I, if we can help it! And, I tell you what. The one-piece swimsuits are looking mighty, mighty fine. Hint, hint...

Now is as good of a time as ever to do something about that closet of yours, too! Have no fear, it is not a bust! Someone somewhere might be able to use your discarded clothing; provided, they are still good to go. I thought that you might would want to know...

A.P.C. is 30 years old! Happy Birthday, A.P.C.! Keep on doing what you do well! You provide us with basics that work with whatever happens down the runway, come rain or shine! Here's to looking at you, kid!

Writing a thank you note is not as passe as one would think! Keep it interesting! Use color stationery. I most certainly would...
