Hello!
Giving and receiving Christmas stockings is such fun! And economical too, most of the time! Harrumph, harrumph!
Christmas stockings can be made from nearly any material that you can think of. Besides that, they can be made from newly minted fabric, or favorite pieces of clothing. They can be small, or large. Small seems to be the most intriguing. I wonder why?
Christmas stockings can be made by hand, or with a sewing machine. They can be purchased; of course, but why not make them? It's easy enough. And gifts from the heart are the most meaningful; if not, the most memorable. I still have a couple of Christmas gifts that were made for me years ago tucked away in a hat box. I pull them out every once in a while to admire them. I reckon I will take them with me when I
obtain a new residence. Oh, yes! I've got my heart set on 'a downtown place,' for a little contemporary, urban living. A place in the city. A place in the country. Now that is really living, wouldn't you say? I can always go to the beach or the mountains when I get 'the feeling...'
What to put in them there stockings? Well, it all depends on whom the stockings are for. It is always a good idea to include items unique to the persons, or that no one else will likely think of. That might require detective work. You are up to the task. The look on the recipients faces will be worth it...
Now; and I do mean now, is a grrrrreat time to shop for stocking stuffers! [You know, as in September and October! Yeah, I know. September is gone, and October is moving right along!]
IF you wait until the official start of "the holiday season," you may NOT find what you are looking for. Moreover, you could pay more than you have to. And speaking of which, shopping for
holiday deals may not be all that it is cracked up to be any more anyways. Yes, it's true. You can find something on sale every month of the year. Why, you can find something on sale every day of the year! I like to pick up things for the holidays throughout the year, myself. At the least, I like to know what it is that I am going to pick up when I do go and pick them up. It makes life easier all the way around. The less hassle, the less stress. Some have plenty enough to be concerned about as it is...
