'Trump style'

Hello!

As for me; personally, I like First Lady Melania Trump's style! In my way of thinking, it is her! And moreover, it works!

With her height, figure and skin tone, she can pretty much wear whatever she wants!

Think:  clean-cut, classic, colorful, sometimes fanciful, occasionally whimsical!

She wears dresses, and pants alike!

And the suits; be it with a dress or pants, suits!!!

The long sleeve, collared blouses that can be rolled up and worn casually (if not as part of a dressier ensemble) seem to be a favorite!

She goes for neutrals; clearly, but she is not afraid to mix it up with color or prints either!

She likes lace!

Her accessories of choice? Large, dark sunglasses. A good coat, jacket, or sweater. A bag, once in a while. And pumps. Most definitely pumps. Two thumbs up!!!

The wearing of the white hat in the meeting with the Macrons was fabulous! From one "hat lady" to another in the making; I hope, brilliant!

Stuck up? Hardly! Cautious? Yes! Who wouldn't be? No matter, it is always best to just be y-o-u!

Bridal season is here, and so are pretty bridal gowns for $200 or less! The H&M Long Lace Dress is particularly fetching! It costs only $129.00! It doesn't get much better than that! Like, wow!

Colorful hoops are taking their place in the fashion scene this summer! Chic! I've a mind to stock up!

Get your FTD Mother's Day bouquet for 20% off! They are lovely! I always did want a lemon tree! Harrumph!

Silver is a winner in my book when it comes to 'a base color!' It's something other than the usual black or blue! I especially like it in earrings, bags and shoes! It brings a touch of sparkly!

Give; and let give, to the Rita S. Wilson Memorial Scholarship! Thaaaaank you!

Them there sassy, sassy cowboy boots

Hello!

Say it; again, please!

They are this! They are that! They are back!

I received my very first pair of cowboy boots for Christmas! I am hooked!

Mine are by Seychelles; which by the way, I have worn every day of the week (with the exception of most Saturdays and Sundays) since December 25th! And I walk a lot, let me tell you! I looked for the pair, which I happen to have on right now, online. I could not find them, so I don't know what they are called...

I don't know how much they cost, either. But I do know that mom purchased them from her long time favorite store:  Belk. And if I know anything about mom, I know that she got them at a good price. They were worth every penny! Shucks, I can go through a pair of shoes in 1-3 months flat, hands down, with my constant coming in and going out! Unless; of course, they are well made. These most certainly are...

They hit below the knee; they are pull on, with the tabs; they are made of fabric, and lined with fabric; they have a floral pattern, stitched on the sides; they have a slanted, thick rubber heel with some sort of patented technology...

If I must say so myself, the right pair of cowboy boots causes one to walk with a strut, cowboy hat or not! I couldn't just walk in them any kind of way; mind you, otherwise I felt it in my lower back. "And don't you just know it!"

I am thrilled to see cowboy boots popping up here, there and everywhere! And at all price points! I don't know what took me so long to try them. I have pretty much had every type of boots there is to have. And I'm a country girl! I have picked cotton, okra, peas, butter beans, cucumbers and watermelons. I have cropped, strung, and hung tobacco. And although this was during my junior high and high school years; believe me when I say, I can still eat cornbread and tweet without getting choked! Ha, ha, ha! I just had to throw that in! Oh, the joys of being a baby boomer!

If you don't already have a pair of cowboy boots, I highly recommend them! Without any reservations! You can wear them with almost anything! Be sassy, young lady! Be sassy!

It is safe to say, 'styled up' denim and denim-on-denim, is something to see and be seen in, in 2018. I can work with that!

Mobile checkout is on the rise. I imagine it is faster...

Tomorrow is 'National Handmade Day!'

Hello!

How cool is that?

Back in the day, nearly everyone knew how to make something, or so it seemed. [This said by a baby boomer ; hear ye, hear ye!] Not so much, any more. More's the pity! Knowing how to make something is satisfying; not to mention, relaxing. Once you learn how to do whatever it is that you enjoy doing, it is pretty much with you un-til...

made my Sunday clothes, in high school. I enjoyed it. I was often told that they looked as if they came from the store. I learned the basics from Ms. Cone at what was Stedman Jr. High School. She sure had a lot of patience with us teenagers. Thank goodness for that! The lot of us had to have given her several more gray hairs. We can all say that we came out of the class knowing how to select a pattern, purchase fabric and notions, put in a zipper and/or make button holes, sew on the buttons and hem. I doubt that but so many of us have sewn much since, but one of my goals is to make and sell denim accessories! I have wanted a nice, denim scarf for the longest time. You would think that it would be easy to find. I can make one from previously worn blue jeans, or NEW denim fabric. I think I would like to do both, to tell you the truth. I tend to wear old blue jeans until there is nothing left to wear; but, I also set aside dressier jeans for some occasions. An American staple, that's what denim is and will always be...

Ladies may not be sewing as much as they used to, but I tell you what, some sure are getting into making soap, lotions, body butters, perfumes and so on. How nifty! And still others are making jewelry. Martha Stewart's wire hoop earrings sure look nice to me. We can do that too!

I really admire folks who can create pottery! Seagrove, anyone?

Everyone is an artist of one type or the other. Consider making something with your hands, other than suds in the kitchen sink (if you don't already)! It is good for the spirit, soul and body! I'm just saying...

If you are going  to pay an arm and a leg for a pair of sneakers, you may as well learn how to clean them! I like them white, or reasonably clean, but not to the tune of a new pair of whites each and every time that I step out! Too prudent for that! Enough said...

As much as I hate to have to say it, do not depend upon any company to secure your data! It just ain't happening, at least not to the extent that we would like for it to. In this day and age of modern technology, it just makes no sense! But, there you have it. Do what you need to do...

It may be near mid-April, but cool weather is popping its head right back up! Be festive in bright colors this weekend any 'ole how, but be warm also!

Give; and let give, to the Rita S. Wilson Memorial Scholarship! Thaaaaank you!

As of today, there are 37 more days left until:  Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13, 2018!

"Happy Today!"
