We never tire of looking to see what Ms. Obama will wear! She has brought such a unique sense of grace and style to The White House! We will be watching what she wears long after she has come and gone!

New York Fashion Week Spring 2016 went by in a whirl! I haven't gotten through all of the collections, but there are always standouts!

I tune into coats quickly, at collections! And that is interesting in and of itself! I am more of a jacket than a coat person! But shucks, I admire both! For instance...

Prada's coats! Prada was at the top of their game! The classic cut(s) with long, lean lines of color breathed new life into a wardrobe staple! I envision these coats being worn for years!

Fendi's leather jackets! Fendi was more subdued in color, but the different lengths caught the eye! They can be paired with as many things as one desires! They will bring a lot of enjoyment!

The standout coat; thus far, has to be the Emilio Pucci royal blue and emerald green trenches! Talk about Crayola color perfection! I see me in that!

We may as well make selections based on the ability to carry them off, well! If it doesn't make us beam like a light bulb, we can just leave it! The season's wares mean nadda, if we don't look mighty fine! I'm just saying!

Sweaters and skirts mean fall is here! One can get an interesting array of outfits, by mixing-and-matching various pieces! And one is never too young or old, for a set!

"Our language" must be on par with that of Pantone! I always look forward to the release of the Pantone Color of the Year!  Last year it was radiant orchid ; this year it is marsala. What color will it be for 2016? ~Rose quartz, I'm gathering! [It is the #1 contender!] It is quite complimentary to a many...

The slate of shades that Pantone has selected as top shades for 2016 are what I would call either introverted, or extroverted! [How's that for a Psychology major?] By that I mean, the colors are calm or bold. I've taken note of Fall 2015 RTW outfits in which both types of color have been used, together. I like it! It shows a certain amount of ingenuity. I call it, creative and witty!

About tops, and other things...

Hello!

My 'fall back' top has always been a candlelight blouse! In other words, an almost white blouse! [I'm chuckling!] It goes with everything, and can disguise a stain or two! White or off-white, you can't get too many of them, believe you-me !

And speaking of tops, I rarely (if ever) purchase a short sleeve blouse! No, siree! It's either sleeveless or long sleeves for me! [And you can just forget about 3/4 length sleeves! Why bother? You're forever trying to tug something down that isn't even there!] My very first preference is to get long sleeves, and roll them up as need be! Finally, someone who gets it! And yes, "the rolling" really does have to be done just so! For the very best effect, anyways...

I concur, the best off duty outfit for stars and wanna be stars still is:  'the white t-shirt & jeans!' [In my case, 'rolled up shirt sleeves over a t-shirt & jeans!' Some of us have just got to be different, don't we?]

Each season we always hear "Buy this, buy that" to be en vogue! Frankly; if it looks good on you, you could wear a plastic bag and no one would complain! [Gawk maybe, but not complain!] Some folks seem to have it like that! This season if you get nothing else, I would recommend a neutral pair of wide leg pants! Fringe and some prints can be fun; but so what, so are other things! Besides you'll probably get tired of the fringe. I've seen some wearing it who looked more bothered by it than anything else! Geez! But back to things. In my book, a wide leg pair of pants can run the gamut of something wider than "a skinny jean" to something having the width of "palazzo pants!" Wide leg pants, palazzo pants, one and the same! You determine the width that feels A-O.K. I can guarantee you this:  you will have fun pairing them with all manner of shoes! Pants with movement is like a skirt with movement:  you feel alive!

All of that said about wide leg pants, this is 'tha year' to get lace up shoes!   [In my estimation, contrary to that of Vogue's! Don't get me wrong, I do like 'the fur lined loafer,' I just like the lace ups better!] I have rarely seen such an assortment; especially, the flat lace ups! Why I remember when most looked like granny shoes more than anything, don't you? My, we have come a long ways!
