Hello!

Pippa Middleton is getting married in four weeks, and one day! We can't help but wonder, "What will she wear?"

Pippa was a vision of loveliness. at Kate's wedding!

Let me see. Pippa more often than not wears 'V,' or scoop necklines; goes sleeveless, or wears short sleeves; wears knee-length, or shorter dresses. The neckline and the sleeves of her wedding gown will probably be similar to what she ordinarily dons; but, her dress will probably be midi, or floor length. Her hair will more than likely be partially up. If she wears a veil, it will hardly go past the shoulders. I could see her incorporating some lace. You can bet that she will be ra-di-ant! 

Aaaaah!

Spring 2018 bridal gowns are showing, and they are something to talk about! Bridal gowns have taken a turn for the better, over the last three to five years! The gowns are gorgeous, and I do mean gorgeous! I am a huge Marchesa fan, myself. I'm still trying to figure out how to pay for one of her anticipated gowns in 2018. I may have to collect newspapers and magazines, cans and bottles. [Hey! Don't laugh too hard! A friend of mine's husband collected, and sold them for years! He purchased her a brand new Cadillac, in cash! See what I mean?] One way or another, one way or another...

If you have a wedding to attend or will be participating in one in 2017 and are at a lost as to what to wear, think:  a well fitting slip dress! It is a modern, 21st century classic! You can accessorize it in any number of ways. You will get your money's worth out of it, and some...

Now is a perfect time to shop for shoes and handbags; among other things, it being the week after Easter and all. Raleigh has a Nordstrom, and we are all taking note of its need to know shopping tips! Right, ladies? Right!

I reckon I'll be working in the yard again this weekend. It's shaping up to be a rather warm one. Don't forget to stretch before you set about your tasks. And never ever underestimate how much 70 to 80 year old folks can do. I've been outworked by one or another on more than one occasion...

It's Easter, and Dan D.'s on a retirement tour!

Hello!

Dan D., better known as Dandelion D., is what I thought of as a Crayola yellow. He is about to go off into the sunset! Easter and yellow go together like caramel cake and caramel icing, 'ya know? [That's another story for another day!] Boo hoo!

Dan D. is; actually, "a spectra yellow." I thought he was "a radiant gold," initially. There are various shades of yellow, as Pantone can attest to. Suffice it to say, it is a color between the trustworthy yellow and orange...

Where will he go? What will he do? I am not ready for him to leave! He was the perfect shade of yellow, to me. Not too pale of a yellow, but not too deep of a yellow either. You could wear him with anything. I'm in mourning, literally! I enjoy color like you would not believe! You have not lived until you've " 'Mixed and Matched' a few things!" I'll be O.K. After a while...

While I'm going on about yellow, you may as well know. Red is an IT color for fall! Especially red from head to toe. Cool. A woman in red has someplace to go, and something to do!

While waiting for Misty Copeland's new book Ballerina Body to arrive at the local library, I read her previous book Life In Motion. Inspiring, it is! I admire her fortitude, her resilience. I look forward to her next professional move in ballet. Bravo; Ms. Copeland, bravo!

Decades of engagement rings something to behold!

Hello!

You have to see an assortment of engagement rings gone by to appreciate the unique beauty of each, and to begin to understand how special one is to a bride to be. I would highly recommend doing this, anyhow. An engagement ring is an investment, and something one wants to wear for a long time to come. If you don't have an idea of what you would like, you will! Got stars in your eyes yet? I do!  

The Pink Diamond reportedly sold for a whopping $71 million, and counting! Imagine that! It is gorgeous!

For a long time I considered getting an emerald diamond engagement ring. Not only is it my birthstone, it is such a bold, vivid color. I'm drawn to it. But then, there is the cost factor. They do not come cheaply. We'll see. If I don't get it right away, perhaps I can get one later on down the road. Ladies hear me when I say:  begin saving for your wedding day now! You'll thank yourself for it later...

While we're on the subject of weddings, slices of caramel cake will do quite well for me and mine on that blessed day, thank you very much! Caramel cake is scrumptious! Thursday was National Caramel Day, and I did not have one slice of cake. Shucks...

More and more consumers are shopping online, for fashion especially! It would not surprise me if we reach the 50% mark +/- a year. Times are changing...

Mini bags are IT, as far as I am concerned. There are times when only a mini bag will do...

Remembering William & Kate's wedding...

Hello!

William & Kate have been married for six years. They got married on April 29, 2011. I waited with anticipation to see the bride. She did not disappoint. Her trademark smile said it all. We were happy for them then, and we are happy for them now. The addition of little George and Charlotte to the family since makes us smile all the more...      

Ms. Middleton could have worn any gown of her choosing, but she chose to wear an Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton. What a perfect choice! It spoke to her classic, but modern whims...

Can you imagine being able to wear whatever wedding gown you wanted? To have the cream de la cream at your call? I cannot fathom it. And yet, she did it with such charm...

I myself was drawn to the Tommy Hilfilger rendition most of all. It had a pill box hat with a veil falling forward. It had a v-cut half way of the back. It had long, opera gloves. It appeared to have tiers of skirt fabric. Modern, and sophisticated. May I borrow this design for my much awaited wedding of 2018, Mr. Hilfilger? Oh, you are kind!

Nicki Minaj Just Signed a Major Modeling Contract! All's I can say is; make it count young lady, make it count!

Roll out 'The Red Carpet' for Fall 2017 shoes!

Hello!

Accessories are a girl's best friend! Especially when it comes down to shoes! Shoes are "numero uno" in my book, and yours too I'm all but sure. It is not too early to begin planning for the shoes that we would like to have for the colder days sure to come...

Although Fall 2017 shoes seem to be a bit of a hodgepodge, chunky heels are not going anywhere yet. But; then and again, you knew that! Some I like, and some I don't. Big feet don't necessarily need to look thick, if you know what I mean...

The shoes that really pop are the Isabel Marant boots. They are the perfect combination of slouchy comfort, and western sass. See the thigh high, and the sparkly black boots? Fierce, are they not? I thought you would agree... 

The velvet shoes are just beautiful. Velvet is a gorgeous fabric. It automatically ups the ante of an outfit...

There are a number of pairs of white shoes, too. Who would have thunk? White shoes can provide 'a little something unexpected' to the mix...

And in other news this week, Levi's is moving ahead with wearable technology. It will be the norm one of these days...

Us baby boomers are exploding all over the scene, some as grandparents, some not! We could have told you that! The question is, "What will retailers do about it?" This might explain some of the consumers' desire to shop from the couch! Ha!

Ready or not, Easter is just days away! Eggs with pressed flowers are pretty cool. If time allows, I wouldn't mind trying it...

Got your green on?

Hello!

I surely do! A green blouse, as a matter of fact. Besides, seeing that the Pantone Color of the Year 2017 is Greenery and all of that jazz, I may as well! Green, bring! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm seeing that Ms. 'O' is into the green too; the green, as in juicing that is! What a marvelous thing to do. I'm a huge fan of it, too. I have a good blender which juices, but I sure wouldn't mind trying the one that she has. Mine retails at about 1/2 the cost of hers. Unless she is willing to gift me with one of those, I reckon I'll stick with the one that I have. Oprah, do you hear me calling?

Fall Ready-to-Wear 2017 shows have come and gone. There is something for everyone, the truth be told, as always. The red-on-red makes a powerful, powerful statement. Indeed!

Yes, a wedding gown can be had for $1K or less! It is about style, and timing. The way I see it, we all know that we will want to get married one day. A smart lady will decide who her favorite designers are, and begin to scope out the possibilities, years in advance. When the question is popped, if she doesn't already have it, she knows where she can get it, at "the right price!" Think; my dear ladies, think... 

Gabrielle Union has a hair care line! It is Flawless by Gabrielle Union. As I have understood from previous media reports, Ms. Union does not have relaxers put in her hair. Her hair always looks great. I'm game!
