Braid, braid, braid it: for summer!

Hello!

Yesterday was; in a word, hot! It was 95 degrees plus, with 75% humidity and a light breeze! Had it not been for that breeze, we would have been toast! I felt every bit of it [too], on my jaunt home! It is summer, and we are in the Sandhills! I couldn't wait to prop my feet up. And forget about eating ; I know, right? I could only guzzle tea! How mercy!    

I will not have fully lived until:  I've worn every fedora worth wearing! Oh; yeah, I am a connoisseur of hats! I wear one eve-r-day! Some days, I wear a couple of "up ponytails" under the hat, other days, "plaits." Braids, AKA, fancy plaits as I like to call them, are garnering a lot of attention this summer. They are cool; and if done well, a fashion statement. No wonder the ladies are adopting them for bridal wear. I can't say that I blame them...

You would think that prepping hair and skin for summer would be a snap! Not necessarily! It requires thought, and a certain know-how. Here are a few things to keep in mind...

I haven't drank La Croix; yet, have you? Everybody's talking about it! I'm excited for the makers of said refreshment! Soda pop in the quantities that a lot of folk I know drink it in are as unhealthy as can be! An alternative here, in the making!

Wedding trends come, and wedding trends go!

Hello!

A wedding is 'the most special day of your life,' hands down! It ought; as dreadful as that word may sound to some, reflect you and your beloved! I say, "Check out the trends. Keep the things you like. Discard the things you don't like. You'll be the happier for it." Brunch, here I come!

Millennials; I daresay, are much more willing to incorporate the use of technology into their wedding planning than previous generations. Well, why not? It's there for the asking! I find it all pretty exciting, especially the wedding website. This is great for before, and after, for eve-ry-one! But, don't be too quick to throw out the notion of invitations! Receiving one is almost as much fun as attending the wedding itself...

I was delighted to learn that Stella McCartney has entered The World of Men's Wear! If the tuxedo that her husband wore to the 2011 Met Gala is any indicator, she will do a bang-up job! I always look to see what she offers each season. The purses, totes and backpacks trimmed in silver chains are as cool as cool can be! Talk about street wear meeting designer wear! That is it! A cool, cool juxtaposition!

Although I lug my beverages around all year long, summer with its heat and humidity is a potent reminder to all of the need to stay hydrated. Water; in all of its glory, can be good. Refreshing, too. Drink up!

O.K., I've got "good eats" on the mind! I wonder. What will we have for dinner tonight? I want dessert. Dessert of some kind. Mmmmm. Peach cobbler. Blueberry cobbler. They're actually pretty easy to make, although I have yet to make one. Don't ask...

National Seersucker Day was: yes-ter-day!

Hello!

I had no clue! Why, I could have worn my seersucker skirt! It has wide pleating at the top, and billows out along the top of the shins! Oh; yes, I've had it for some time! Even so, it is still c-o-o-l! What a great "Southern tradition," given a new leash on life! 

Not only did our usually dour (shall we say) lawmakers take it upon themselves to re-establish National Seersucker Day again, they will continue wearing such accouterments the rest of the summer with Seersucker Thursdays! Well, well, well! I do declare! Will wonders ever cease!

Sun's up, over and out! Wear a hat! Missoni hats:  make my day!

Summer may not officially start for a few more days; but, it's going to feel like it come Sunday! It's going to be a whopping 99 degrees! You may as well prepare the fixings for another "Southern tradition" :  homemade ice cream! Mmmmm, mmmmm, good!

T.J.Maxx is [still] the store I head to: 1st!!!

Hello!

Show me a fashionista who doesn't like T.J. Maxx, and I'll show you someone who doesn't know the difference between the truth and the facts!

Some stores are struggling; but, not "the Maxx!" I wonder why that is? Let me enlighten you! It's called "bargain hunting!" Need I say more? I could, but I won't! T.J. Maxx; you inspire us, to be our best!

Crop tops are one of the  ITs, for summer! If you're going to wear one, I strongly suggest that you pay your dues! I'm just saying!

I know it's after Memorial Day and all of that jazz; but, summer is still ahead of us! If you haven't seen the way to pack ; as far as I'm concerned, 'ya gonna wanna! Awesome, no?

The Bergdorf Goodman Pre-Fall Collections 2016 catalog is h-e-r-e! It is always something to behold! See for yourself!

Victoria's Secret to no longer sell clothes (including swimwear), shoes or accessories!

For a few moments, I was about to get snap happy when I learned of this! All that I could think of was:  no more body splash! Take heart, I was wrong!
